The needs and wants of customers is an ever growing concern for businesses. Strategically setting yourself at the heart of that strategy is an important aspect of survival in a volatile world that has seen crisis after crisis become an everyday occurrence for departments. In a high demanding sector, your customer will make the difference between buying from you, or jumping ship to a competitor. Being able to understand these implications is a key component that this session will draw upon. The Amazon effect means that customers now expect flexibility and control in terms of what they purchase and how it is received. According to Gartner, 81% of marketers view customer satisfaction as the main competition area in their industry. Understanding what your customer wants can be a challenging aspect that we all want to recognize. It helps build trust, brand awareness and provides the key essentials for business survival.

    Decarbonization

Track 3  - Leadership Perspectives: Barriers and Opportunities for Supply Chain Decarbonization

with - Gunter Beitinger, SVP Manufacturing, Head of Factory Digitalization, Siemens

The carbon footprint of most industrial products comes from the supply chain of the manufacturer. To tackle climate change and respond to increasing customer demands, industrial companies need reliable data about the carbon footprint of their products, starting at the cradle and following the entire supply chain as a starting point. Only in an ecosystem of partners will these companies be able to turn transparency into action.

SiGREEN provides the necessary basis for targeted emission management while preserving the data sovereignty of all participants in the supply chain. To make this possible, a new ecosystem has been created: the ESTAINIUM Association. It operates an open and independent network for the exchange of PCF-related data using decentralized trust technology. SiGREEN and ESTAINIUM are comparatively new approaches, but already very promising. This talk will provide a deep dive into both concepts and highlight the opportunities that an open ecosystem can bring when it comes to a greener, more sustainable future.
